Stock Controller - Cape Town - Observatory
Shift work - 9pm-6am
To ensure effective inventory management and controls within the warehouse and assume full responsibility for all stock counts/audits, ensuring that all discrepancies are identified and rectified to allow for an efficient operation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- 3 years’ experience within a warehouse environment in a similar role
- Previous work experience on warehouse management systems such as Cargowise
Key Responsibilities
PLANNING STOCK MANAGEMENT
- Ensure excellent stock management and controls within the Facility to ensure an efficient and effective operation (FIFO)
- Report any damages to cargo within the warehouse
- Report and investigate all stock variances identified in the warehouse (Stock Counts)
- Manage the inventory team to improve staff output
- Supply operations with picking instructions timorously to ensure good customer service and timeous deliveries
- Check picking instructions prior to invoicing, to ensure that the correct stock is dispatched
- Ensure that daily updates are given to management and required actions are taken
- Ensure that all stock records/systems are up to date and balancing to the physical
- Conduct random checks, ensuring that reconciliations of theoretical to physical count are done at least once per month
- Checking of forklifts and Hyster’s, and reporting to management thereof on a daily basis (daily check lists)
RETURNS
- Capture returned stock from the trade, including reason for return and origin
- Maintain correct flow of documentation with regard to incoming and outgoing cargo
- Ensure all required administration of documentation is checked and filed correctly
- Checking of Pod's from the trade on a daily basis
- Follow up on any outstanding invoices and orders
- Debriefing of Pod's completed timelessly and correctly
- Ensuring that all cargo leaving the premises have the correct documentation to accompany it
- Check all orders picked have the correct paperwork, which entail correct quantities, batches, etc
PROJECTS MANAGEMENT
- Actively assist in improving the administrative systems to the betterment of business and its Clients
- All stock take/counts to be completed within the required times
VERBAL COMMUNICATION
- Liaise with the client regarding issues, procedures and solving problems
- Liaise with the warehouse staff on a daily basis regarding orders/deliveries or any queries
GENERAL
- Ensure racking, bins and all other equipment are clean at all times
- Liaise with Admin staff on a daily basis regarding issues and solving problems
