Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, technical sales - onshore North & West, as part of VPS Region NCE.
In our department, we oversee technical contracting, value engineering, customization, execution, regional product market requirements, product integrity management, and grid compliance.
This position is within the NCE Power Plant Solutions team, comprising international electrical engineers. It falls under VPS Region NCE and Technical Sales Management, where we support the organization in delivering solutions to customers across Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe (NCE) with focus on our region North & West which includes the Nordic markets and UK & Ireland.

Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer in the NCE Power Plant Solutions team, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the technical value engineering of customer renewable energy projects, collaborating with the Sales team's experts in their respective fields
  • Ensuring compliance with electrical project configuration and requirements from customers and grid transmission operators. This involves timely responses to customer inquiries, preparing clarifications and deviations for tenders
  • Taking ownership of relevant technical risk assessment and mitigation during the Value Engineering/Negotiation phase, including the management of technical annexes and contract schedules
  • Gathering electrical data and customer/site/grid requirements for project grid integration studies and initiating Engineering Pre-Design (EPD) studies
  • Reviewing and evaluating EPD study reports, supporting customers in optimizing projects based on the study results
  • Providing technical support beyond the Sales phase, assisting in the Construction and commissioning phase, preparing grid compliance test protocols, and supporting during test execution


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or in a related field of engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position, with a good understanding of regulatory electrical requirements and grid codes
  • Proficiency in power system evaluations and studies, including steady state and transient studies such as short circuit, load flow, FRT, and power quality
  • Familiarity with power system simulation software such as DIgSILENT, PSCAD, or PSSE
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HV and MV equipment and power systems, with a good understanding of primary and secondary systems
  • Understanding of industrial automation and networks, along with experience with PLC hardware, SCADA systems, and communication interfaces (beneficial)
  • Project management experience within the wind industry (beneficial)


Competencies

  • Good technical skills with a problem-solving attitude and the ability to conduct root cause failure analysis
  • Good communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken, in English. Knowledge of an additional Nordic language would be beneficial
  • Good organizational abilities and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated and skilled in stakeholder management, including interactions with customers, grid operators, conferences, and collaboration with product management and research and development teams
  • A results-oriented and customer-focused mindset, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and collaborating seamlessly within an international team

Additional information
Our preferred work location for this role is our office in Malmö, Sweden.
We are however open to explore other location within our region: Videbaek/Aarhus, Denmark; Hamburg, Germany; Dublin, Ireland and Edinburgh, UK.

Up to 25 travel days per year.
